Every Part D prescriber,
on the same drug model as everything else

CMS publishes what 1,139,455 Medicare prescribers wrote in 2024 — as free-text drug names. TwinFyRx resolves those names onto RxNorm and WHO ATC, then profiles every NPI by class, ingredient and volume decile, so prescriber data joins pricing, formulary access and indications on the same keys.

CMS drug strings resolved onto the drug hierarchy

The CMS file has no NDC and no strength — just a brand string and a generic string, truncated at 30 characters and abbreviated (“Insulin Glargine,hum.Rec.Anlog”). TwinFyRx resolves each of the 3,159 name pairs to the most specific RxNorm node the name can pin, then rolls claims up the hierarchy to ingredient and ATC class.

99.7% of claims land on a drug concept; the rest is supplies (pen needles, insulin syringes). 52% stop at precise ingredient because CMS uses one generic name across dose forms — “Gabapentin” covers capsules, tablets and solution. TwinFyRx rolls those claims up, never splits them down by guesswork. And one name can span routes: “Triamcinolone Acetonide” is a cream, an injection and a nasal spray, with 4 ATC codes — Step 5 resolves it.

Source: CMS Medicare Part D Prescribers by Provider and Drug, 2024. CMS suppresses prescriber × drug rows under 11 claims, so volumes are lower bounds. Specialty is CMS's Part D prescriber type unless noted. Example prescribers are real NPIs shown by specialty and state only.
